Post Stick term: What do you call....
After seeing and hearing the NS Channel's most recent video about Gary Jibilian and seeing jayskerr's reply, it became apparent to me that Stickists love the NS any bit as much as the Stick (MichNS), especially bass playing Stickists!

So, we need a term for Stick players that are looking into an NS. The best I could come up with is that NS doesn't stand Ned Steinberger, it stands for Next Stick :D

BTW - the NS Channel is on fire! Dean when are you going to Chicago to interview Russell Keating!

Put me down as a Stickist interested in making an NS his "Next Stick"! And I love the Dean NS Channel!

Lol I do like that NS stands for "Next Stick". The more I think about it, and the more footage I see guys of playing, that is a highly versatile and extremely practical instrument.

Post Re: Stick term: What do you call....
Pardon a somewhat serious NS/Stick question: Do most/all NS/Stickers go with the 8-string tuning in fourths that pretty much looks like a standard 8-string bass tuning, or does anyone use fifths and the "standard" Stick inverse strings and tunings?

What I'm really getting at, as a keyboardist turned Stickist turned bassist, I have no special bond with fourths and really like the fifths tuning on my Sticks. But I think I'd like an NS/Stick in fifths. But maybe not.

I guess it's the age-old newb question about what tunings to start in, but with NS/Stick. I know Don Schiff started on "regular" Stick before going over to NS/Stick and I believe fourths standard tuning. Is it hard to go back and forth from Stick fifths to NS fourths?

I should probably lurk on Dean's channel more. I'm sure these questions have been asked and answered before.

Thanks, guys!
