What Stick music do you listen to, and why?

Andy Salvanos is in heavy rotation these days as it feels like I am listening to poetry at the same time. Andy has a playful approach to playing and his experience as a busker shows through on his most recent album "Solar Cycles".

I was very impressed with Giancarlo Caffarena's performance at the most recent NAMM Free Hands Academy event, I'll post some video in a mid-week FHF. Chuck Hughes observed that Giancarlo's style was a true guitar-bass approach to the instrument. Giancarlo has mostly abandoned bass side chords in favor of playing bass full on in the left hand. He utilizes a 5 bass / 7 string melody instrument. I used to have a Mahogany 12'r with this setup.

Equally impressive was Michael Johnstone's performance. Michael's approach was much chordal in the left hand and featured wonderful walking lines and countermelody. I will have to inquire about his song selections, many had a gypsy-oldtimey feel to them with.
