Post Re: David Torn
I don’t know Torn’s career and discography very well. I didn’t know about the Everyman band until now.
My experience about the discs he was involved is quite limited : I don’t dig so much Cloud About Mercury (the overall sound has aged in a bad way IMO) but am still an absolute fan of BLUE (the studio and the double live album) and Karn-Bozzio-Torn’s Polytown (huge impact on me, the sound is awesome on a nice audio system). I’m not very fond of the last albums he did with some other musicians under his own name (both albums on ECM records), but the solo Only Sky is one of my all-time favorite.
This guy is on the Gear Page board from time to time, and he is very gentle and nice to discuss with.

Blue became an all time classic with my former partner. We'd go for country drives with it.

I don't know how I missed this guy w/ all the cross-pollination of artists & labels I listen to. Thanks for the heads-up on D.T.
