Keith Jarrett’s career appears to be done
Hello all, One of my favorite musicians is Keith Jarrett. I’m not aware of a more accomplished pianist alive today. Keith has announced recently that he has had two strokes and his left side is paralyzed. The most he can hope for is that his left hand will some day be able to hold a cup. He can no longer play and is in nursing care. The stroke was severe enough that he will not recover. He is trying to adjust to life without the piano. This is devastating to me and many, I think. I listen to his body of work often and it inspires me. That work is now finished and we will get no more. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/21/arts ... piano.html-Eric

Whoa. I was just listening to The Koln Concert last weekend. I recently learned the story on how that album came to be...incredible story on the creative process when working under strict parameters and slight duress.

I first saw Keith live in Miami in 1969 when he played with Charles Lloyd and have been a huge fan ever since. This is heartbreaking.

Just read the article. What a tragic story honestly. It's the end of an era as many of the musicians of his era and style pass away.
