So on fb someone posted J.W.'s B'day and a link to "Providence" from "Red", and that was the only 8-track of Crimson I had and I played it in my car ALL THE TIME. This was pre-Stick for me and Johns sound was VERY influential in the next band I was in - a no-wave fusion original thing.
So I programmed a Hiwatt stack in my trusty/crusty PODX3 & have been hi-ending it for the better part of the day.
Don't know why it took me so long - I usually use desk pre-amps and fuzzboxes, my favorite amp sim is an AC-30 or Sub Dub, but this breaking-up Hywatt is a lot of fun...and my favorite OTHER bassist of Crimson tribute!
