Anybody take any inspiration from ANIMUSIC?
Anybody take any inspiration from these guys? The technology involved in creating these videos is amazing. And only uses ONE and/or TWO STRINGS (UPDATE): They also have NO FRETS http://animusic.com/

I have both videos. Haven't watched them in a while, but do really like them a lot. Surround mixes too.
Highly recommended.

Oh yea, the first time I saw it playing in a store I was mesmerized. Sat right down next to the kids and watched in awe. Sheer brilliance, and not just for kids at all. The instruments are so cool it freaks me out. Seriously tripped out and the best animation of instruments playing ever! The creators must be really far out.

One of the most interesting aspects of Animusic is that after creating the model of the world, gravity, physics and all then creating the instruments,, the animation is automatically created by feeding midi data to the program. As it is a 3-D world the “director” of the video choose various “virtual” cameral angles to create the video as we see it. Very cool concept as well as implementation.

And does everyone know that those instruments were inspired by a fascinating instrument you might have heard of? From Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animusic) - Fretless hammered Bass Guitar (Known as "Mr. Stick", in reference to the Chapman Stick) -Eric

Well heck, that didn't work! So if interested, go to YouTube and search for Animusic Machine. It's a real-life Pipe Dreams machine. They pulled it off pretty good except the air guns propelling the balls are kinda noisy.

I also own both. My first ANIMUSIC was on vhs. My son and I wore it out. Now we own both on DVD. My kids have all the melodies and some of the harmonies memorized. Personally, I think the music on the second one is more interesting, but both are great uses of technology. Cant wait til the third one comes out.
