I really like it a lot too. I totally agree with everything Rob said.
I've been listening to the 5.1 mix

It's these Steven Wilson mixes that make me really wish I owned a 5.1 system.

My relationship with metal music has really dwindled over the last few years. Watershed was the last recent "real" (maybe not compared to Still Life or My Arms Your Hearse) metal album I listened to on repeat endlessly. I still love that album and it's one of my favorites of all time, but I'm much happier with the newest direction. I also was a huge fan of the Storm Corrosion record.

Well, i bought Pale Communion without expecting something particular, and really love it. I am not fan of their new direction (I kinda hate prog music I guess) and don't still like Heritage but songwriting is far more superior on this one. And the production/mixing is stunning. Still miss growls and occult vibe though...

Oh and a side note: I don't like good production apparently, haha. In metal that is, as was pointed out to me by a friend. Each time a band got a better production it lost something for me. I know this sounds silly but for metal its kinda true. Now I DO like good production with other styles so don't trip. Did the opeth guy stop all brutal box? Cheers
