Post In a rut?
Sometimes the simplest things can mean so much.

Regarding ruts or slumps that can occur from time to time in your Stick playing...
something as simple as taking a nice walk can invigorate your playing and "loosen" you up for new and pleasing musical expressions.

I write this, because that's what I just did!

A walk is fine, a lesson is better. IMHO.

What if your rut is so deep and long that you can't walk your way out of it? :o

seriously though, good luck I agree a change of scenery can go along way

wow...

It was so simple what I was talking about. Just how nice life can be with unexpected simple pleasures.

Paying for a lesson?

Clinical depression?

Not what I was referring to, but just like unexpected pleasures you get unexpected downers.

Trilok Gurtu would always go for walks to clear his head and let new music come through.

Makes sense hey?!

When I go for walks all the old ear worms come out to play - but I found an antidote to The Birdy Song:

Every home should have one.

Hey Walter,

Walks are great. Cleaning horse stalls is even better. Very meditative. I also enjoying kneeling in the dirt and doing a bit of gardening (getting ready to put in potatoes tomorrow).

Gardening is the bomb! Diggin' in the dirt and havin' food appear is the best.
