Here's one, my very favorite of all time. Absolute harmonic perfection.

"Frost" is an English prog band to whom I was recently introduced. To me, they definitely fall into the "obscure and underrated" category. I have their album "Milliontown", which is wonderful. Jem Godfrey is the keyboardist and driving force of the band. He plays keys with G3, so the dude can PLAY.

For a little preview of the upcoming album, go to:
http://www.planetfrost.com/

Scroll down the page and listen to "Heartstrings Demo".

I've been listening to this album for 13 years or so now, and it never gets old, and I'm apparently the only one who's ever heard of it.

Spiral architect, tried a few years ago, but could not listen to the whole album, too complex for me... :/

Rheostatics - One of Canada's treasures that didn't make it south of the border.

Great version of Gordon Lightfoot's "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". The video is lacking...um...lacking the video...but anyway...

Pekka Pohjola. One of my favorite musicians and composers. He was pretty popular in Finland in the 70s-80s though, but is almost unknown in english-speaking prog communities.

His early works remind me of Zappa heavily, yet still have his own distinctive sound and style.

His last album, 'Views', is an example of the most beautiful jazz orchestra arrangement I've ever heard, specifically the 'Metropolitan' track. Unfortunately, no link to share; this album is pretty hard to find.

Hey Metalken, I see you like Spiral Architect, you're not the only one!
:) I facebook with the drummer now and then, very nice guy. They ARE
working on a new album , albeit sloooowly.
Also, if you like SA, ( and I love them), check out Linear Sphere.
With their new album, they have a Stickist, Steve Woodcock, I like
his work.
Then there is Exivious. Not well known, but man they should be. They
remind me of early Cynic mixed with Mahavishnu Orchestra somehow...
Anyway, I had to comment since you mentioned Spiral Architect.
Happy hunting!
