"Streamline" by System
I've come back to a tune I haven't listened to in a few years, "Streamline" by System of a Down (from Steal This Album!). This has to be one of their most triumphant moments. It rocks, the meter alternates between 5 and 6, no 4 to be found, it has a touch of Eastern influence, it's got a painfully sad lyric theme (songs about the loss of someone hit me pretty hard), and at moments it'll propel you to high drama. It'll even get a tear out of you if you're of a mind to let it. Just outstanding.

You never struck me as a System fan Luc. I really dig that band. Thats a killer tune I've never heard before, so thanks for posting that. My wife and I saw them here in Hamilton, Ontario a few years ago. What a great show,..... great seats, band was spot on, sound was big and beefy. Oh.....and the Mars Volta opened for them......that band merits a completely different thread altogether. cheers, kev

Re: "Streamline" by System
I think a lot of people would be very surprised to know all the things I listen to. Yesterday and today it's big-time Thomas Dolby. Tomorrow it could be Arch/Matthias. The next day it could be Debussy, Peter Frampton, Miles Davis, Queen, Peter Gabriel, Rage Against the Machine, Adrian Belew, Vital Information, Chopin, or Rob Halford. I saw System as well here in Maine back in ... well, they were touring supporting Toxicity and Steal This Album, anyway. I was completely blown away - they were just so good. And I think Shavo gave me the finger at one point.

Roger Waters said something to that effect at the DSOTM recording sessions. A musical maxim I carry with me at all times. Rock on, brothers. Grayo the White
