I of all people agree about the "visionary" thing but if you want what I consider to be the real sine qua non; the big country of the idea, try on "The Galss Bead Game" by Herman Hess. Blow's my mind every time and 'time and time again' when I read it I think that The Stick is the key to the game. I asked Emmett once if he had read the book and he said "oh yes, in the original German"  .*J* .~ |

Thanks guys for all the stories and for talking about how you got into the Stick at various points....good stuff! I've attached a Far Side cartoon which sums up Stick-playing way better then I would have been able to express in words. =) J. |
