Post Slap bass
I'm a big fan of "slappin de bass mon" although I'm not very good at it myself I think I may attempt to work at it in the new year.
Here's a fellow thats got it all going on in that department. Those Status basses kill.
Enjoy.
cheers,
kev

Great link. Just…..wow. Killer triplets and chord-work sprinkled around in there. I'll be Status basses are amazing.

Kev,
very nice! I actually met Mark King of Level 42 and he signed my friend.'s Mark King signature head and said "nice to know there is another one of these in the audience!" He was incredible and I told him one of his own jokes- he stopped, a big grin got on his face, and said "I wrote that!" ( A guide and a tourist were going through the jungle, and the guide kept saying "Drums stop very bad""Drums stop very bad""Drums stop very bad", all the while they kept hearing drums in the distance, "Drums stop very bad",finally the drums stop, and the tourist in fright asks what happens now, and he says .... time for the bass solo!)

This might give you some ideas. Scotty's bass has a lot of fun and instructional bass vids.

Interestingly for him it alleviates the effects of Focal Dystonia, a neurological disorder

Slap bass is the closest thing to jacking off that I know of . It was interesting to me for about three minutes in the 80's .

While the first guy has the technique down,IMHO Marcus Miller is taking us on a musical journey.I'm not saying that the first guy isn't,it's just that there isn't a lot of variety to my ears.Theres plenty of tension, with very little release.Marcus Miller keeps my ears interested. Those Status basses do rock.

Are you making that comparison because you lasted about 3 minutes with it? Sorry, dude.
There IS therapy for that, you know.
Sorry, I mean nothing personal. I was just jumping on the opportunity for a joke.
