be nicer to everyone around me and learn to appreciate them even more
they (and I) won't be around forever, so our time is limited and wonderful

Post Re: New Year's resolutions
Generally I've avoided resolutions. This year though ... the word is "focus".

I've been in the mother of all funks musically for the last year. I've played maybe two gigs all year. I have several projects in my queue and tend to dabble in the project du jour for just a bit and then let it go for long periods of time. Then when I find myself with too many choices as to which project to fiddle with today, I'll just play NHL on XBox instead. Sigh!

So this year, prioritize the projects, give the high rated ones the attention they deserve, and generally get back into the groove of being a productive musician.

It's easy to get side tracked by all of the noise in our lives. You're not alone. Unless you plan to live in isolation, you'll need to make choices, or focus as you mentioned.

I'm right there with you, Sir.

All good resolutions. So good in fact, I suppose I could just pick any one of the aforementioned resolutions and be content with it.

Write a book, go to Costa Rica and weigh in at 180 lbs.

Everything else is just in the way...!

Great post.

I want to get my musical equilibrium back. I'm finding that the Stick is such a paradigm shift that I really have to take a step back to reassess what it all means.

I expected the Stick to be just another instrument, but it's way more then that.
