Wendezeit - Mathias Sorof - Composition for Chapman Stick
Wow, again. The universe has given us two Stick compositions today! Mathias is one of the un-crossed stars of the Stick. Does anyone know his tuning? This is a really interesting piece. Very different from André's, but seems to also be on a virtuoso level. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VTEZMmLYY0-Eric

Today is a great day for Stick! I enjoyed this very much. But boy does that uncrossed tuning looks uncomfortable.

Eric, great find! This is a beautiful composition and I hear shades of Pierre Bensusan in there...

He does a fantastic version of Bach's Blurred in E minor too. This piece shows the benefits of a classical training. Its also another example of the many possibilities that exist with the Stick.

Enjoyed the composition, the chord progressions, the polyrhythmic divisions of twelve, and Mathias' general musical "joie de vivre".

If I remember right he's playing uncrossed parallel tuning with 4ths melody on top, 5ths bass on the bottom
