YYZ by Rush
I just love this....kid was 11 when she recorded this....and at the end she takes a bow wearing an old-school Rush t-shirt.

Don't know what's more amazing - the playing skills or the fact that she likes Prog!! Check out her version of Kansas' Carry on Wayward Son, it's even better.

Re: YYZ by Rush
That has got to be the least enthusiastic audience ever. Wow. She deserved an ovation the size of Neil's drumset.

Re: YYZ by Rush
The t-shirt she's wearing is the frickin cherry on top - old school Rush circa 1974...!

Whoa....You're right about that! =) I found this inspiring first because YYZ is one of my fav Rush songs...and then second because it illustrates the power of arranging. Kind of a kick in the pants to arrange some stuff for Stick...

Joseph, I'm a big Rush fan too, if you arrange something for the Stick I'd be more than happy to hear it. Got me thinking about my favourite Rush tracks that would translate to the Stick, maybe 'Tears' from 2112? Might have a go at that myself one day -Marc-

Rush is tough, though. Those guys are such good musicians. I love the classic Rush stuff, but I also like the very early eighties stuff like the "Signals" album. I'll bet "Losing It" would be interesting on the Stick. Ben Mink kicked ass on that with the electric violin. Let's stay in touch about this. Could be an interesting collaboration one of these days.

Re: YYZ by Rush
Great cover.....audience full of wieners and drips who dont know any better. This band was most likely my biggest influence as a younger, cooler version of myself.
Ben Mink eh? Thought I was the only cat on here that knew his name..... Check out his proggy goodness with a little Canadian band called FM....Nash the Slash also played for these guys as well.
Meddled with Entre Nous from Permanant waves, but never really took it much farther......yes, Rush on the Stick would be cool..
Great post Joseph. cheers, kev

Will do Joseph, it might be a while before my playing is on a par with their music, but it'll be fun when I get there -Marc-
