Re: 4 Finger 8 note scales in 4ths Tuning for Stickists
Here are my new friends, "Pentatonics for Melodic Minor." There's unusual fingerings in there as pentatonics go. In world music there are other pentatonics than the ones we use, I didn't include them such as 12356 or 12357. If you want them you can work them out for yourself. For melodic minor they would include half steps which isn't normal for western pentatonics.
Chick Corea was one of the people who revitalized the use of pentatonics which had grown stale with so many hands playing the same things.
Yesterday, I tried to find out about how he uses them and I only found one easy to find reference. The example was in the article in Keyboard Mag in the other thread post. It was something like play CEbFGBb, then come back to the same root and play a different pentatonic over the same territory like CDFGBb and then do it again with another form of the pentatonic. This makes me think he does the same thing with arpeggios too.

The previous chart on pentatonics showed normal two finger forms. Here's the breakdown for 4 Finger Melodic Minor Pentatonics.
Next up, Non-3rd chords with roots in the top voice and half steps in the middle voices. Now that I'm pretty much done with all of my own study materials, I have a plan to work them out for left hand only for standard stick tuning playing both bass and melody strings at the same time to finger a single chord leaving your right hand free to blaze a new trail.

The second chart for Melodic Minor Pentatonics has the first two rows with Eb's on the second string (if using guitar numbering system). It's in the section that says Same as D min at the top. Those are errors. They should be D's. D min pent doesn't have any Eb's. Duh.
