Post "Solace" from Dream Recall
I wish I could remember Andy Salvanos' username here. I'd love to send him a PM and tell him how hooked I am on "Solace" from his Dream Recall album. But then, saying it publicly is nice, too.
Andy, wherever you are: holy shyte. This tune of yours is just killing me (in a good way). It's gotten me through a couple of rough afternoons. Thank you, brother.

+1 for "Solace". Luc, I know exactly what you mean, it's the perfect way to ease out of a particular hectic day in the nicest way. Andy seems to just hit the spot every time with this one 8-)

Well done, Marty! What a gorgeous STickup tone Andy's got there! (listening)

Right now it's in my car stereo, I listen to it often. Besides his playing, I think it's one of the best sounding Stick recordings I've heard, beautifully mastered. If you listen carefully to the first song and a couple others, he's hitting a few notes that sound to me a lot like a fretless bass.

You're right Luc, a few times I've played it to bring me down from work-related adrenaline rushes on the way home.

Yes, I too noticed that phenomenon. It sounds like one or two lower strings on the bass side that when played at a low fret (near the nut) buzzes a bit, but since he has turned down the treble quite a lot on that side it comes out more like a fretless bass buzz than the metallic fret buzz when heard through the rest of the music mix.

That or he could simply have been playing through a dynamic filter on the bass side?

Anyway, I love the playing, the tunes and the classic Stickup sound. To me Andy's album is a good reference point for what the Stick can sound like at its best.
