I thought this overhand style of approaching a guitar died with the late great Thumbs Carlille and Jeff Healy but Rory Hoffman has brought it back with a vengence. Thumbs played in an open Eb major tuning whereas this guy like Healy uses a standard tuning - but left handed and backwards. Rory also plays piano, sax, mandolin, harmonica and accordian all with equal brilliance. Get him a Stick!
This is a rather long but interesting webcast interview with 3 songs interspersed but if you want to cut to the heart of the watermelon go to 22:40 and see him gobble up Autumn Leaves.

I played with Rory at NAMM a few years back. Blind, he recognized the sound of The Stick immediately. Great player.

Here he is on a PRS thru a Boogie. He's worth 2 Danny Gattons and 3 Albert Lees. He plays so deep and with such wild abandon and when he hits an occasional clam - it's spectacular too.

Nice sound! A bit nostalgic listening for me because when I was a small child and did not know anything about making music I was often mesmerised when hearing on the radio guys like Barney Kessel and Toots Thieleman. Rory has a little of that vibe.

While enjoying his great musical playing, I couldn't help but wonder why I am at times such a salve to looking at the fingerboard when I play.

That's simply beautiful...I was thinking about Healy with his rock style but this guy is amazing with his jazz music...wow.
