Very nice! Aside from the number of strings, the feature set appears to be identical to my own instrument.

You have excellent taste. :D

Now that I have stick in hand (or perhaps I should say 'in my possession'), I'm headed down to CT this weekend for the 2015 Northeast Stick Seminar. Quality time with the masters and fellow Stickists. Playtime at the local Irish Pub with multiple choices of draft IPAs. Someone pinch me. 8-)

Post Re: The Chronicles of a Stickist
Lots of inspiration from last weekend to keep me going for awhile (until I get off-track and have to schedule a Skype session with Greg for a mid-course correction). Everyone had something unique to share - Bob, Greg, Brett, and the other participants. I have Greg's DVD and it's great to play a chapter as review of the live sessions we had.

The whole 'angle of attack' thing instead of typewriter tapping straight down was a paradigm shift for me coming from a guitar background. Will take some serious practice to get the style technique worked out, but for the Stick it makes legato much easier.

I have to admit to some degree of frustration since I have these musical ideas that I can't physically express (yet) in any coherent form. It's like being a toddler and watching your older brother and sister out in the back yard running and playing frisbe when all you can do is crawl a few feet and end up flat on your face.

So, time to pay my dues (again) and do the simple repetitive stuff to build muscle memory. I continue to work on my three original Stick tunes but now I'm more aware of the 'free hands' method in expressing them rather than working the Stick like a typewriter. Fortunately, I haven't been playing for just over 30 years but there is still lots of muscle memory left to rework for the Stick. My hat's off to you folks that actively do both Stick and Guitar/Bass - talk about compartmentalizing brain cells, wow.

So, hang in there fellow Stickists - the time you invest will be rewarded tenfold because the end result is such an incredible musical experience both for the performer and those fortunate enough to be near when the magic happens.

Post Re: The Chronicles of a Stickist
My stick showed up right at the start of my 'busy season' around here with outdoor projects, so finding playing time is rare unless the weather is wet. The time I have had to spend with my Stick has been buckets of fun. I actually have a half dozen musical ideas taking shape. My first 'gig' will be my 45th Reunion mid September so must firm up these pieces so I don't look (and sound) like a total wanker. :geek:
