Man, I love the Hang drum! And this guy has not one, but two! I love how he's got one hand on each drum during certain parts of the arrangement. And the second drum has a complimentary tuning from the first drum which leads to some unexpected riffing at around 5:20ish. The Stick and the Hang drum...just imagine the possibilities! He has found a great sounding spot there to play at! The ambience smears out the hang notes in a really nice way. |

Tapping instrument family? Should we consider the stick as a melodic percussion instrument? Like piano or xylophone or marimba...we don't use sticks to play it but fingers...results are quite the same at the end...combination of percussion approach and melody (chords also). |
