...and "Nerd Poker:D&D with Brian Posehn and Friends" is pretty great, if you're a weirdo like me. I love this podcast, Nerd Poker, rules.

Re: Awesome Things
Ah, yes... the glorious days of 13-hour D&D sessions...
One of my oldest and best friends writes for a gaming company, lives in Richmond, now only about 45 minutes from the house. He, my son and I are plotting to turn my basement into a full-fledged geek out as soon as I figure out how to tell the wife I am going to skip work for a day so I can play a wholesome game of 1st Edition AD&D.
Can't wait. Anyone else wanna join us? You'd have to start whatever character you make at the 9th-ish level. My 9th-level fighter/cleric got his experience honest... many years ago.

I have no conception of any of that, but I might be in if my various medical problems allow. It would be nice to flex my geek muscles where I need not worry about how recently I managed to shave (i.e. neckbeard). Do you still have my number?

Re: Awesome Things
Flights of the imagination. Artists never lose their inner child. I designed a dungeon on graph paper when I first went to university but I actually didn't play except for a few times. I was very impressed with the idea of the Shugenja shamans in the Oriental card game but the artistic representation of them on the cards and the miniatures was terrible and I haven't thought about that stuff in ages.

Re: Awesome Things
Tatsu,
No cards in D&D. The game is paper, pencil, dice and figurines We used to place the figurines on a map of hexagons, which we refer to when combat is necessary. The game master creates the scenario and relates it to the players, who implement their intentions with dice rolls.
Holy shit, I have exposed my white underbelly to the stickist community. Now I have to convince the world that playing AD&D is fucking RAD, worthy of getting chicks and all sorts of press.
If it makes any difference, I am an excellent DM. Chicks just love that.
Rob, I no longer have contact info for you.

Re: Awesome Things
This is quite a departure from that which I am accustomed.
Played a rather empty open mic tonight with my son, Kieran. He's a huge fan of They Might Be Giants. We played two songs of theirs. Here is one. I am not playing strings, but percussion.
Kieran just turned 13. He's already 6' tall, and slaying the piano as well as holding his own on acoustic guitar. That's my boy!
