Thanks Jayesskerr and thank you Kevin - I really appreciate your comments and support. That was a fun and challenging project. While some of these have slipped out of the repertoire I still draw on a lot of those tunes to this day.

I have really enjoyed listening and learning from other Stickists that are composing, recording and posting their favorite songs in the form of Stick arrangements. While Greg, Steve and Bob have many tunes out there to enjoy, three others that are a constant source of inspiration would include David Tipton, Kevin Chiasson and Francisco Rafart.

Gene has not been shy about describing the amount of work that said series required. You might want to make it "Tune a Fortnight" if you intend to post YouTube videos of each tune.

Planning. Lots of planning.

I had a "credit" of about 12 songs going into it, so the idea was to work out new songs so I didn't have to use up the ones I had in the bank. The idea then evolved into a process of working multiple songs and getting them into the bank, ideally 3 weeks in advance of when I would record and post.

When Thursday came around and it was time to record, I already knew what I would be doing three weeks from that Thursday. That was a pretty good feeling have a few in reserve. It was also stressful towards the end. I was leaning pretty heavy on Real Book tunes as that was easier than listening and arranging by ear. One of the most challenging moments was capturing a decent take of Joy of Man's Desiring. Second to that would have been Power of Two by the Indigo Girls which is a GREAT song.

I am kind of hoping Steven, Kevin and I are going to work through Dear God by XTC - you want in on that action Jay? :D

Cool. I think there are four of us here that want to be involved. Kevin and Steven, I know you guys know your way around a Google hangout. Jay, you need to get a g+ account and add Steven, Kevin and myself to your circles.

What about timing for this? Monday in the evening is my only available time? Kevin are you flying on Monday, May 4?
