I'm not big on non-fiction, unless it is history-based or political/news/conspiracy/ufos/weird shit. I have a short list of books I am going to read when I get a good pair of cheap glasses and I can read again. I recently discovered, upon tucking my son into bed with a Brian Jacques "Redwall" book ( or was it Tolkien?), that I was blind as a bat. My years have suddenly beaten me on the back of my head. So, I have a great book that Dave Brosky sent me which has been staring at me for over a year, in addition to Conan the Cimmerian, by Robert E. Howard, VALIS, by Philip K. Dick, and I fully intend to re-read the Elric saga by Michael Moorcock. Loved all that fantasy stuff when I was a teen, so I want to relive that and see if it stands the test of time. Jack Vance is great, too. And Robert Heinlein. Verne is another. Very heavy reading. Cool thread, thanks Kev. kev |

My favorite non-fiction books are usually dealing with history, but also lately "laymans'" science, Totally enjoyed "Stuff Matters" a book abut the impact of materials on our lives and "Endless Universe: Beyond the Big Bang", a cosmology book about the development of M theory by two physicists who are deeply involved in it. I heard about Martin Pistorius on an npr program "Invisibilia". Amazing story. Very sad, but also very uplifting: http://www.npr.org/2015/01/09/375928581/locked-in-man |

Yes I enjoyed reading the Dawkins stuff as well. Hitchens too (god bless his soul......ehe). Always fun to watch him slay his opponents during debates and such. The Greatest Show on Earth is another RD book Id recommend to any fan of his... Anybody read Donald Fagens Coachella report in last months Rolling Stone? Pretty funny indeed. Thx for that link Greg, I'll check it out. cheers, kev |

Yes, I am familiar with the Rendlesham case, Kecksberg, the South African crash, Dulce, Phil Schneider, Paul Bennewitz, etc. Read thousands of cases, hate seeing obvious hoaxes on the net. I like the Disclosure project interviews a lot, even though Greer is a douchebag. Those guys are the real deal. Edgar Mitchell is the real deal. Would love to chat sometime. Elric was my favorite. I loved those books. Never read Donaldson, but I will research his stuff on your sage advice. Good to hear from you, sorry I'm so slow to respond. Losing my trigger finger. Kev |
