As far as an SB8 or NS, Tony's not a guy who tends to be up on all the options nor does he care to be. He gets his hands on what feels right and roles with it.
I did an opening set for him back in 2007 and I remember a conversation where I was basically bringing him up to speed on all of the models of Stick Emmett was currently selling. Somewhere in the middle of all that I had to pause and make a mental note of how surreal that was
In the same conversation I was asking about what model of NS bass he was playing (I was in the market at the time) and he replied "I don't really know. I had a cello I really liked and asked Ned to make a bass that plays as nice as my cello."
