Post Agregaator Intro Riffs
EDIT: 2024-03-28
I've finished the track. You can listen to it on bandcamp:
https://kaspartorn.bandcamp.com/track/agregaator

With this track I'm trying to reunite the sides of the Stick by crossing over from one side of the instrument to the other as needed.

The sides of the Stick are processed separately with identical effect chains, blending cleaner sound with the distorted.
This allows to play distorted cross-side chords and polyphonic parts with more more clarity and definition.

Very nice Kaspar. :D

Thanks for sharing.

The video gives a very clear impression of the dynamics with your fingers too. I might show it to some non-Stick friends both for the music and to show what I mean when I try to explain to them that the playng action is more 'touch' than tap'.

Cool, thanks! I'm constantly striving for the force by moving to the note. I'm glad it's working (at least sometimes) and that it's showing.

I've finished Agregaator!
This track started from an idea that I had recorded while experimenting sticking various objects between Stick strings. The main idea is prominent at various places in the piece: among othes, right at the start played on a synth and at the very end in it's original form.

The synth chords were derived directly from that arpeggio line. The riff that's present in the video was the result of me improvising over the main idea, trying to come up with a language of riffing on the Stick that involved both sides in more equal importance and function.

The rest of it was just more work to fill in other instruments and sections. In the intro, there's some Stick with cello bow and eBow. The bass part is again played on the Stick. For the drums I decided to keep it acoustic this time as it seemed to fit the track better.

You can listen to it here:
