Here is the finale from last week's festival concert... In contrast to my previous posts, where a Bob Marley rendition and an original maintained some semblance of normalcy, this next one gets pretty weird.
Having met the night before, I invited fellow musician/vocal percussionist Komakozie on stage for a spontaneous improvisation.
Spontaneous improvisation ensues. Around 8 minutes into the video, I put down the Chapman Stick and jump off stage to dance with the crowd, giving Komakozie a solo. From that point on, things continued rather experimentally. Hey, I've been describing my music as psychedelic for some time now, so don't say I didn't warn you. Next time around, I think I would pick the Stick back up to conclude the jam, and probably smile more. At the time, I was simply through and fully satisfied.

That was fun! To be an external witness after the fact to an event with such spontaneity and creativity, without the benefit of the energy and emotional connection you get from being there, is almost voyeuristic. But ten-dollar words aside, I'm glad you documented this. Keep on keepin' on, brother.
