This week I have a short beginner's arrangement of Johannes Brahms' Lullaby, accompanied by tabs and a performance breakdown at http://www.patreon.com/jgoldbergmusic. It's a strange thing to put out beginner material, there is a pressure one can feel to always outdo themselves with everything they put out, to always be making something harder and more complex and really flex their proverbial muscles. But a school needs a curriculum and having a place for new people to get started is one of the most important aspects a curriculum can have in my opinion. I hope you enjoy it!

ABSOLUTELY!!!!

As someone who has at most 2 or 3 years of lessons total (and that on three different instruments, all 30+ years ago) I find this site both inspiring and frustrating.

Inspiring because of what everyone is able to do. Frustrating because everyone has a couple of years on the stick, but as much as decades of time before that on a guitar, keyboard or something else.

Really nice to see something for the rank beginner.

Good stuff man. There is a lot of technique and muscle memory involved, it seems good for learning independence, and finger placement. This and what most people call simple or beginner songs can be expanded greatly once you learn the basic moves or form of the song, realizing what went into most classical music, you find they are not so simple. I like to read the piano score, or guitar, or any instruments sheet music and try to figure out how to play them on my own. It is extremely challenging, but i think that is the best part of the stick. I am just starting to read music, and still have to think about the notes, i have to read the music then figure out how to find the notes on the stick, which finger/hand is best to use etc.. I find myself learning a part one way then realizing i have to change it because a different fingering pattern makes a smoother change for the next part.
I think it is great that you are sharing your love of the instrument with others. Rock on.

...yes, indeed and shure...
...and don't forget, classical music is a great treasury for all instruments...
