:D It's Saturday, and I have the whole day to kill... so I thought to myself, "Self, you should torture the guys at Stickist.com with recordings of you working out some charts..."

So I listened to self, and here's another tune.

I have a much easier time with tunes where I can dictate what the bass-line is, as you will be able to tell... Also, I am definitely more comfortable in some areas of the Stick than others - way up high is pretty tricky, but I'm working on it. Also, my brain kind of just "gives up" in spots as I'm trying to lay down a solo. So it's like this... Use the "hiccup" as part of the solo, and plough on through. This one took a good hour. Ugh... Still, I learned tons, and it makes for an excellent reference point even though it's quite rough... Let's see what else we can do today!

I'm probably the only one on this forum who's never heard the original. But for reading charts down and jamming out the changes, you've got it! You've been working on Stick sightreading for quite a while and you can read most charts on the Stick. That's an amazing achievement, and I know you've worked really hard--and lately, smarter--on it. Congratulations on that!

I think personally--as someone who is a really sucky reader of music--that reading regular piano score and playing it on Stick with two hands is something that everyone should do--except me, 'cause I can't even be bothered to read and play piano music on piano, much less Stick. But I think you've more than proved the utility and power of learning to sightread piano staff on the Stick.

I say, my good sir, keep rocking it out! :ugeek:

Hey, thanks for checking it out. This one was a bit tougher, probably because I couldn't just insert my own bass sequences in there... gotta play what Miles wrote.

Sightreading is an extremely powerful tool, it forces one to play at one's actual level. For me, anyways... :D

:D A little bit. I am like an, ummm "twig" player. Lol I guess that makes me a "twiggist" Bahaha

Seriously though I'm getting there, slowly but surely. I am really able to have fun with the Stick now which is the most important thing. And I have time to practice cool guitar licks too!
