Post Stick Tune - Megalith (Original)
:D A quick riff I put together tonight, I was messing around with some of my sequences, thought I'd see if I couldn't add some "guitaristic" tapping in there as well, whattaya know, I can!

Take a listen, let me know what you think, eh? Very primitive playing throughout, no drums or anything - just Stick to a click... after my "serious" practice, I rocked out for a half hour or so and then I hit the record button...

I'm thinking I might do a bunch more original stuff this month - Just for fun, 'cause y'all need something to laugh at.

That first part after the intervallic tapping lick reminds me of Californication

Gonna check this out in the car over lunch today and rock it out. I’ll be back later with a damage report.

Took me a bit longer to get to a place to rock it out. (And some political stuff happened here in the Americas this morning that got the colonists all riled up. )

[Listens at home instead of on the way home from work. Had to listen to the news.]

[Head bangs. ] Good work here, Scott!

I see that same Californication feel in some of the verses, and like Josh, that's also a pretty fucking good thing. But I read Josh's impressions before I was able to form my own, so maybe I would have had a different impression. Doesn't matter; Josh has good taste and the tune rocks.

That was what immediately caught my attention. Tapping on a 6-string and doing it "rock style" (whatever that means) has a different flavor and feel to most Stick tapping. I don't think I can articulate the difference, but I immediately thought of some of the tapping sections as very "guitar-like" in the tapping style. I liked all that guitary tappy arpeggiating and runs.

Bass side: I dug the basslines and I really thought I could get my head around what you were doing and mostly how. Hummable bass lines in general.

I also like the finish and especially the title. "Megalith" is an awesome name for a righteous tune but 1:22 is not enough to warrant such a title. There's only some many good song titles in the world, man! (I find naming shit is way harder than making it, but equally enjoyable when a name rocks.)

I am the Cisco Ramone (CW Flash reference) of naming stuff. "Megalith" is awesome but it needs about 11 more minutes to justify the name. And a flute solo or 3. ;)

Nah, I keed, but seriously, Moh-AR!

Mottou Kudasai! --Steve

Getting there, slowly but surely. I suppose it is a bit short but at the same it is a bit of a feat of endurance to keep this sort of thing going. At the end of the day, my "SoundCloud" page is a collection of musical "sketches" - nothing too serious just yet!

I'll probably go underground this year, maybe develop my playing a bit. :D

Definitely getting there Scott. And somewhere completely different and new... inventing and traveling down your own path... what a glorious journey this is, isn't it?
