Re: Inside The Insight
Awesome as always, Alain! Your creations strike as "music for music's sake" - by that, I feel like there aren't any preconceived notions, you are just playing music and you happened to have a Stick handy. Cool stuff, man. I am a fan!

Re: Inside The Insight
Yeah, what Scott said. I get caught up in the writing details and often, okay always, overwhelmed with the recording process. Whereas you, man, you just let the music out. I really admire and appreciate what you do Alain. Poetry in musical form.
(Maybe if I learn French this will come more naturally to me...?)

Re: Inside The Insight
Very enjoyable, Alain. I love your style and music. I always think when I hear you that "Hey, I should do something like that!" and then I do something, even if it's totally not that at all. That's actually happened on more than one occasion already. So, you are the very definition of inspirational, Alain! You inspire me to make music. Thanks for sharing and I threw in the suggested buck fifty Canadian to download. Cheers!

Re: Inside The Insight
Thank you guys...
Stephen...you almost hit the bull's eye...lol. I always start with an idea in mind but I just let it out the way it has to be. A lot of improvisation though. Sometimes I just erase what I do, sometimes not. It depends how I feel inside. Does it talk to me? If the answer is yes, then I hope that will talk to someone else.
I know my harmony quite well but many times I prefer not using it. I like to listen to my thoughts first. It's not always what I expect.
By the way...I do it in the morning...very often with a musical idea I had in mind the night before. In the afternoon I do something else. I'm a bit like a carpenter who wants to build a house without a plan...lol. The spirit is more important then anything else.
That's it...thanks for your comments...as you know, it worth a lot to every musicians.

Re: Inside The Insight
This reminds me of some of Bill Laswell's projects from the past - Ekstasis in particular. Really chill. This is great stuff, sir.
