Post Stick and Strings Jam
Hey - I hope everyone's doing okay out there! I made up this jam with the Railboard and thought it would be perfect as a collaboration with a guitar player, y'know a Satriani type thing over top of the sort of unstoppable grooves that only a Railboard can deliver!

The first section is Emin7 to Cmaj7, then the second section is an Amin7 to D7, with the RH playing a repeating D-E note. I hope you guys dig it - I know my creations aren't always your cup of tea, but I thought I'd share it anyways. :D

Have a great day fellas!

It rocks!

Where'd you get that holder thingy for the stick.

I may need some left shoulder surgery, and was thinking about ways to hold the stick so I can play with just the right hand during recovery.

That’s a Tagg interface - I got one of the last ones from Gene. I love that thing, I wish I had gotten one right off the bat.

Thanks for checking out my riff! It was fun to create!

That was pretty bitchen Scotty, good show.

What the heck, that gnarly solo was one take...

Hey guys - thanks for checking it out. Yeah, the guitar solo was a quick one-take, so was the Stick track. I just videotape myself with my iPhone XS (- it has a bitchen' camera) while simultaneously recording in Logic ProX. Everything is direct to interface, so no need for headphones (although I usually prefer to mic my guitar amp).

I start the track with a count-in, and then as I'm performing - I play along with that count-in with percussive slaps on the instrument. Once in Final cut, I sync up my video/audio with a semi-polished complete audio recording from Logic and then delete the Stick and Rhythm guitar audio.

I slightly blend my lead guitar's "live" audio with the polished track, just so you can slightly hear the click of the metronome, a bit of ambient basement space and a bit more projected thickness for the guitar as well as the backing.

In my opinion it's like there's two modes of Stick play - "soloist mode" where you are playing the melody, the chords, the bass, etc and "ensemble mode" where you are playing with other instruments. Both require a separate approach I think...

Anyways, thanks again for checking it out guys. More to come.
