The 1-2-1-3 diatonic fingering makes those kinds of runs so much easier and consistent than trying to play them 1-2-3-4.

Just double checking Greg, but is that 1-2-1-3 as in "The Great Unified 3-Fingered Bass Strategy", as I think it is?

Indeed, Pinkies purely optional...

He stole the Idea from Upright players.
I don't know about cello players, never played one.
All kinds of techniques apply on Stick.
Kevin Keith got another one.
Then there's Tony Levin's "reach-over".

Not exactly, but there is a lot of similarity with the hand-movement concepts. Bass players have a very long scale to cover, but because they have 4ths, it's easier to cover it. However you get there, get there!

¡Hola Tomás!

I'm so glad you liked the piece. I, too, miss seminars. The sounds of a huge group of players altogether is so unique, and it's so great to hear everyone's individual approaches live and in person.

The instrument is the second Railboard prototype. Wooden beam with a Rail surface attached to the top. There are two Villex pickups, very close to the bridge, so it sounds very much like a Clavinet. The exposed frets are not anodized, so I don't want to play it too much or it will wear the frets. I will make a demo video of it soon.
