Two minuets from "Tapping into Bach"
Hi everyone,
Here's a video of the first two pieces from my book "Tapping into Bach". There are two different camera angles for each section, so that you can clearly see what the hands are doing.
I also tried something a little different for the recording. The melody side is running thr the Fender guitar amp and the bass side is running through my bass rig. Each is recorded with a mic. Any thoughts have on the sound are most welcome.

This sounds great! I am slightly biased because I prefer to run my Stick through both a guitar and a bass amp.

I like it if the bass amp has a tweeter, otherwise I think the sound is too dark...

Wow. Bach still does nothing for me. Reminds me of having to practice piano after school. Which I never had to do, and would have balked. Luckily parents let me pick instrument and repertoire. Great technique and playing, Greg! I would run screaming from the auditorium! But your book is a great learning tool, and Arthur Durkee's artwork is beautiful. Now, PDQ Bach is another story...

To each his own, Marty!
I learn so much about movement and how to navigate tricky fingerings from these pieces. Love playing them for what they teach me as much as for the music.

Very nice, Greg...inspiration to re-visit the Minuet in G Minor, it's been quite a while. Along with the skills you mention, I think that learning Bach makes one a better bass player, too (for a band).
On a different tack...to my eyes, you look like "Greg Howard" again, with the goatee.

The bass movement in these pieces is really useful to have in your toolbox, for sure.
Agree about the goat, though it's quite a bit grayer than the last time...
