Thanks! I never saw his 70’s band but I did see him with Stanley Clarke and Bela
Fleck.

I saw that lineup too. I found it a big disappointment. Three virtuosos that never seemed to come together on stage. Was that your reaction as well, or did I just catch them on a bad night?

I’ve seen Bela with the Flektones twice, and THAT is something not to be missed.

And I love the groove you have going on that track!!

I enjoyed the shows so perhaps you saw them on an off night. I saw Jean Luc Ponty with RTF on a double bill with the Flecktones. That was an incredible show.

Thank you!

About 15 years ago, my duo was scheduled to open for Bela and the Flecktones. Complications arose and we were rescheduled to open for Rite of Strings with Ponty, Clarke and DiMeola. Quite a fun gig.
Fast forward 10 years and we opened for the duo of Bela and Chick Corea. Good memories. Kinda' ups your game in the company of these giants. Hopefully more to come.
My Stick-Tet plays the Iridium in NYC July 23 featuring
Chieli Minucci, Rachel Z and Frank Bellucci.

Wow! Those sound like fun gigs. At the RTF/Flecktones shows, Chick and Bela played some of their duets.
