Latino
Small mistakes here and there. Only 2 chords for this pattern...D7 and Gm. Thanks for listening. I didn't play my stick for months...time was missing. So, listen to this as a practice...lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmJif6LiOFE

Re: Latino
Like the Latin beat!
What scale/key are you using for your melody side?

What scale/key are you using for your melody side? Gm for the improvisation. But for the riff there is the note f# (RH) because the whole thing is going from D7 to Gm. I wrote the whole riff and see if I can upload it here. It's not that complicated. When the riff is played I just improvised in Gm. You can play the F# note when the riff is in D. It starts in D to resolve in Gm

Re: Latino
I tried holding the Stick in that position, to alleviate l.h. problems. Then I can't reach upper positions (where I play alot) Just doesn't work for me. And w/ the back problems, vertical is the only way. Love the groove of Latino!

Very tough to play vertically because my left shoulder is damaged after having a surgery (cancer) to my neck left side in 2012. Thanks for your comment.

Re: Latino
Indeed throw in that F#! Gmi scale is GABbCDEbF D7 is DF#AC The F# in the D7 is the raised 7th of the Gmi scale The D7 with the F# resolves "harmonically" better to the tonic Gminor as a leading tone. For that reason this is known as the "Harmonic minor scale"
Steve A
BTW... if you kept the F natural against the D7, it would function as a #9 (E#) producing a D7#9 otherwise known as "the Jimi chord"
