Post Since we're posting videos ...
I found this one of Jim Lampi on YouTube yesterday. I generally marvel at the way the Stick is simply an extension in Jim's hands.

Jim is indeed very musical. It's the space and the pacing that makes it happen. Jim's the man.

I echo Steve, Jim is Da Man. singing and playing those grooves so effortlessly is like chewing gum and walking... on a tightrope across Niagra Falls! :D Jim taught at one of the Ann Arbor seminars and really is a nice guy and an intelligent player & teacher.
Treat yourself and check out "Greasy".
Dave Brosky

PS QUICK TIP: that groovy fretless sound is pedal bound (not like Steve's new Stick) and you can get it cheap on a Zoom 505 II Bass pedal or an old Slow Gear.

play ahead of the beat depending on tempo and the effect you want to produce taking into account the attack setting.

That was in La Chaux-de-Fonds (Switzerland) at the Swiss Stick Seminar in 2003. Please do also note the exquisite minimal drumming of Steve Grant. A marvelous moment indeed!

Well, in Facebook, Karsten Roth pointed out this video showing John Martyn jamming with Jim Lampi at a show... :!: Thanks Karsten!

I didn"t know anything about Martyn's career, and I went through a bunch of videos in Youtube. What a great musician! I particulary enjoy this vintage one, don't know why :

It's a shame John didn't have a cow's tongue (joke inside... OK, I  )

Interesting that Jim's solo perfromances have a similar vibe to this group's
presentation. Jim is one of the most musical Stick players I've heard
