Found these on youtube.

I really like his playing. Check out his other videos, specially what he's doing with his BearTrax tapper.
Cheers, Daniel.

Re: Jan Laurenz got an Alto.
Hi Daniel, I saw these the other day, and put the second on the stickplayers favorite list: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=stickplayers#p/fIt really seems like the perfect instrument for the way he plays, very fluid, with lots of movement in the right hand... and those high notes...very nice. I like all the interdependent rhythmic stuff as well. Looking forward to more.

Re: Jan Laurenz got an Alto.
Got this answer to a question I asked him on YT : "Hi Grozeil, yes i got an alto,it's perfect, nothing more to say! my favorit instrument now." I've quite a bunch of videos from him, and I find that the instruments that suit him the best are the rather high-pitched instruments : he did some very nice things on the Box Guitar and on this Alto IMO. This guy is very talented. He deserves more recognition I think.

I really like these videos, much more than some of the others he's posted. I think the higher range of the Alto is a perfect setting for him to really play on.

He's very musical. This is my first time hearing him play; I really like the music.

Cool. He has a lot of great vids on all the tapping instruments. I liked the 'Warr Jam' as it heads of into ethnic loopiness akin to the Ozrics. Nice backyard too!

Damn. I was enjoying being one of the few Alto players out there. Now I've got THIS guy to deal with? Bummer He really is good, though, in all seriousness. He has always been receptive and and full of praise when he comments on my stuff. Cool guy and a helluva musician.

Re: Jan Laurenz got an Alto.
I just discovered this guy on YT last week and and swooped all his videos many times around. He plays great and the pieces I like the most are those he does on the BearTrax. Seems he changes the tuning between songs quite a bit on that instrument?

I think Jan is very talented and has some very good pieces in all the instruments that he plays. He has an amazing right hand, fast, clean and very articulated. It would be nice to have him posting here... Cheers, Daniel.

Re: Jan Laurenz got an Alto.
It sounds he sometimes uses some strings as resonance strings - gives a nice flanging sound.
