Musikmesse in Frankfurt?
Hey, I wonder if there is a chance to see some stickists perform at the Musikmesse Frankfurt 2012 ( http://musik.messefrankfurt.com/frankfurt/en/besucher/willkommen.html). I can't find any in the products-search section but maybe you'll know more. Maybe this year I'll go there for the first time and it would be awesome if I could see a real Chapman Stick at close quarters.

Re: Musikmesse in Frankfurt?
Amen to that. I went 9 years after buying my first stick before I even saw another stick player perform live. I am mostly self taught to play guitar, bass, drums, mandolin, Stick and cello. The Chapman Stick was the most difficult of all of and I wouldn't recommend anyone trying to go it alone unless you are of an extremely long-lived family and expect to live to about 110. I think Emmett is 130 by now! (just kidding)

Re: Musikmesse in Frankfurt?
Well Nico, did you check also for other two-hand-tapping instruments? I mean, this Messe is a commercial fair that requires companies to rent a booth in order to appear at the show. That cost can be justified for a player that is selling a product that will benefit from the exposure. Stick Enterprises is located overseas with a production line already lagging a bit behind actual market demand, so Messe is probably not a good opportunity for them right now. But what about other players like Markus Reuter and Siggi Abramzik that are almost local?

I would be surprised if Markus Reuter and his brand are not showing up at this MM.

Re: Musikmesse in Frankfurt and Stick help wanted in Germany
Hi, according to his website Kevin Keith will be playing at the Messe and will be also doing a European tour. I emailed him asking where and at what booth he would be working, but I've received no reply thus far. btw, are there any Stick players in Hessen who wouldn't mind getting together and letting me try the Stick - I don't even know what it feels like to hold one. Let alone try to play one. I have emailed two people from the Deutsche StickForum, but no reply... Any help would be welcome. I live near Giessen, I speak pretty fluent German and you can check out what I do here: http://www.johnmorrell.deThanks John

Re: Musikmesse in Frankfurt?
Thank you for the answers. Yes, I also searched for other manufactures (among them Touch Guitars and Warr Guitars), but there were no results. I could've asked here if anyone knew about other stringed tapping instruments, but since this is a dedicated Stick forum, I just asked for this kind of instrument. But if anyone knows about other manufacturers that appear there, please let me know! I have a tapping instrument but I would also love to try how the Stick feels and how it plays. As soon as I have the money, I will order one, but before investigating the money it would be really cool if I knew what playing this would be like. I live in Saxony-Anhalt but surely would travel to a Stick-meeting somewhere else in Germany. @jomo, do you mean this website http://www.kevinkeith.com/ ? It says Musikmesse 2011 there

Re: Musikmesse in Frankfurt?
Hi John (and everyone). Sorry I've been out of touch, its been a challenging year. I did some playing for Presonus at NAMM last month and there is some talk about me traveling to Musikmesse 2012 to do some performances with David Haynes at the Presonus booth. I'm not sure whether or not this will pan out but I will post at this forum if that happens.
Thanks so much for your interest and apologies again on the no reply.
Take care. Kevin

Re: Musikmesse in Frankfurt?
The company that produces the Tenayo Ziggy and Koyabu Board are seemingly present at the Musikmesse. But now it has become rather complicated for me to find the time to get there...
