That's a funny expression but I guess you mean that he is stretching the timing now and then? I too noticed that and I must say I like that way of playing. In fact, being able to drag or speed a part against another part was one of the reasons I started playing the Stick, after having played mostly non multitasking instruments.

Having used a pressure-pad controller in the past (mine is currently not working) it's more intuitive than you might think, and much easier to deal with. Wah-type pedal require a certain amount of balance-shifting that pressure pads do not, so I'd urge you to give it a try.

What sort of things were you controlling with it? I've tried the SoftStep a bit, and will likely buy one soon. I could see wanting to use pressure for certain things and a regular pedal for other things, just curious what you were doing with it.

the device was a MIDI out only controller based on Emmett's Patch of Shades pedal.

The main thing I was doing with it was filter manipulation, kind of a hyper-wah effect. But I also used it for nose-dive pitch transposition and chorus and reverb depth parameters.

The Wah effect in this video, starting at around 6:50, from the TC Fireworx, was controlled using this pressure pad:

I think I need to get it working again, sounds like fun!
