Holy Crix, this is amazing! The insects stick with a major key! I think the slowed down low octave version reminds of the chorus "Jesus Christ, Super Star..." from the seventies opera if you recall.

Very interesting, but I tend to go along with Brett on this one.
Let's face it, with enough electronics even my mother-in-law would sound melodic.

In this case no electronic processing were applied. The recording was only speeded/tuned down. What you hear is exactly what the insects are singing but you here it lower and slower.
