Site Music 1
Hi all. I am starting a project where I'm going to create some short ambient pieces for use as background music on various website pages. Today I uploaded the first of these on SoundCloud and will be adding to my website later on. The bed track for this was a completely improvised loop using clean Grand Stick and the Mobius looper on a MacBook. The loop was already built up when I leaned over and hit the record button and let it go for a few minutes. Later I added some flavor using Absynth and Logic X. https://soundcloud.com/gpoorman/site-music-1

Sounds great Glenn. Lush and crystal clear. What was the pickup of choice?

Hello Glenn,
thanks for sharing, ...very fine atmo of your playing... but there is no need (IMHO) for the dogs at the end of the track,... or was it the roumours on a railway station... or...
...just an other question, if you upload a work of your copyright to soundCloud, will the copyright remain yours, or by uploading your work, the copyright is given to the soundCloud company???...

Re: Site Music 1
There's another kind of chatter. Don't know if I'm ahead of the game or behind, but I hear what I hear. It's something reminiscent of those slowed down crickets. The chatter happens in the harmonics, with intermodulations creating an intelligent hi-speed lead melody solo in the highest register.
First this phantom voice dwells on particular harmonic confluences, creating heavenly sustained harmonies above the strings. Then they start to move around. Sensory hallucinations? What are you up to, Glenn?

What a fantastic piece to sit quietly with dogs while I feed them breakfast. I would have looped your music if there was a way on SoundCloud. Oh, well, hitting play over & over is good enough. To me the "chatter" added, rather than detracted. The music was already fairly thick at that point; what are you going to do; add MORE tonal layers? The point had already been nicely made. Sounded like NASA transmissions between ground control and a flight crew, giving me an image of floating above the world. Or maybe it was just that glass of port I had with dessert last night. Nah, I'll go with the gorgeous, happy space travel imagery. Thanks, Glenn!!!

Re: Site Music 1
Thanks for the remarks everyone.
First regarding SoundCloud, your copyrights stay yours. They advertise themselves as simply a promotional vehicle and make no claims on the material.
Next, the chatter. I've used space transmissions before but this time I kept a little closer to home with a topic near and dear to the hearts of Michiganders. It was a transmission between Captain Jesse Cooper of the Arthur B Anderson and the US Coast Guard. The Arthur B Anderson was on Lake Superior had been in eye shot of the Edmond Fitzgerald on November 10, 1975. When they lost eye and radar contact in the storm, they made several distress calls to the Coast Guard eventually reporting the Fitzgerald as missing.
