12-str Grand live looping virtual journey
I just ran into this old video recording and think I must have forgot to share it here. It was a 100% improvisation where live looping was used kind of "like an instrument" beside playing the STick. I play mostly SG-12 these days but watching this again makes me long for getting enough money to fix the defect PUPs on my Grand. I also have an idea about making a PUP house and put two Lace Alumitones there with just an on/off switch for each side.

A really beautiful and heart felt transition at 6:50 . `J`

I'm really glad you found that, Per. That was really cool. JRJ, total agreement on the transition. What a tremendous release, and all the buildup to that point makes it much sweeter.

Hey Gene, how do you snatch a YouTube code that works with this forum code? The preferences seem to have changed, I used to be able to get the player working here but now I just can't get it right. I think I have tried every alternative link code you can coax out of the YouTube user interface.

Re: 12-str Grand live looping virtual journey
It's tricky. Generally, when we grab our links from youtube, we are logged securely into our youtube accounts. Google would prefer that we share out our links using their tools (displayed conveniently underneath the viewer), so this causes issues when we try to share them using tools like phpBB 1. The .be domain will not render, so links like this will not work http://youtu.be/mpX_cf4x74g2. If you see an ampersand (&), remove everything to the right of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpX_cf4x74g&feature=youtu.beshould be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpX_cf4x74g3. Lastly, if you see that the address is being displayed using a secure connection, update that so... http s://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1Ykofy-XB8 becomes I really like the two-handed melody stuff that you are doing right about 4:40, such an amazing full sound. Great work Per, I'm a fan for life!

Re: 12-str Grand live looping virtual journey
Thanks, Gene! It was the little "s" that I didn't know I should cut out: When I recorded this ten months ago I thought it was a bit too sloppy and noisy. But now after having played street busking precious melodic and harmonic music for three months full time I just love these chaotic noises! Have you heard the guitar player Pete Cosey that used to play with Miles Davis? That's a lovely sound! Funny, noisy and full of humor... wonder if that can be done with the Stick?

Re: 12-str Grand live looping virtual journey
Per,
WOW! Thanks for posting this! What a great loop jam. I love all the different sounds, voices and moods that you get out of the Stick. I had no idea that they were all hiding in there...
I have to go with the group and say that the transition back to clean at around 6:50 was one of the best that I've ever heard. Worked so perfectly. If this were cinema, that would have been right up there with 2001 when the spinning bone turns into the orbital space station at the beginning of the movie. Loved it.
Also, I really enjoyed the lead guitar sounds over the backdrop of the loops. Reminded me of some of the Tangerine Dream stuff from the virgin years. Sometimes, only a studio lead will do, right?
That was excellent!
