Post New Video - Albinoni's Adagio (Theme)
Hi All,

Here's a new piece I've been working on. Since I'm kinda lazy about reading music (it's just too hard), I bought a book, "Classical Fake Book", that has snippets of popular classical pieces with chords and a melody line. Here is the result of my first bit from the book (usual disclaimers):

Great! It so nice to hear someone playing with emotion and without hurry.

Hey! Is this the song that is playing at the end(or rather the graveyard scene) of The Doors movie with Val Kilmer as Jim? Sounds very sad anyway, but beautiful! You played with a lot of emotion. Surely no disclaimers were necessary. ;)

Very nice job, Marty. One of my favorite adagios, this piece. Good tone and attack; might want to work on making the dynamics a bit more dramatic. That's what brings out emotion. For a first rendering, though, I'd say you're on your way.

This piece was quoted by Yngwie Malmsteen as an intro to his song "Icarus Dream Suite." It was also used as the main theme to the 1981 Mel Gibson movie "Gallipoli."

A fine performance and an excellent selection. Generally I am not a fan of hard panning for left and right hands, but it works for this piece.

You play it well Marty, another bit sir!

Just wonderful. Thank you.
Do you feel like you lose a lot of the left hand material with your fake book? I'd like to get it, but I wonder if my left hand reading skills would atrophy.
