Post O Praise Him - cover of Dave Crowder tune
Since my last couple of posts have been ultra-slow meditative songs, thought it was time for something with a bit of a beat.

Still struggling a bit to stay on time, but I'm improving. OK, maybe not in this video, but trust me, I am getting better.

Cheers,

Anyone who has read more than a couple of my posts in The Lounge or other places would get the hint that I'm not Christian. However, it's a fool who thinks that he can't learn at least a little something from ANY genre. And after watching this, I came away with a couple of nice little arrangement gems. First, a reinforcement of the "left hand single bass notes and right hand on chords while the voice soars over all" approach. I'll be doing some of that in the (hopefully not-too-distant) future.
Secondly, out of left field the root motion alternates between the 4 and the 7... cool-sounding.
You've got a really nice voice, Marty, and your playing continues to advance. I can imagine what kind of asset you are to your congregation. Thanks for sharing that! Keep 'em coming!

To play "ad lib" and with a drum machine is really different. I also tried lately and that gives you more liberty on one side but you have to follow this machine on the other side. I also improve...good job.

Congrats Marty, you've done it again! I always enjoy your arrangements, but this is my favourite so far. Love the single bass notes which don't intrude into the song, leaving your voice to carry the song.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

I used to play praise/worship for years. Mostly just bass lines in a band, using Stick whenever possible. I never sang, though.

Always great to see the stick used as a leading and accompanying instrument to voice.
