Wow, I agree about the sound. It's gorgeous. When will we get the new CD "Stick Figures Revisited"? |

Yep, gorgeous is the word! That's a well chosen tempo for this piece. |

Absolutely lush tone with lush compositional ideas that just work great especially up to the first modulation. Brings the stick up to the level of a serious concert instrument like Segovia did for classical guitar. Don't want people focused on the fact it's a relatively new invention with people saying you have to SEE this thing. You want people saying you have to HEAR this song and the tone. It sounds great and that's what will make people want to have a recording or their very own stick not because it makes the audience say "Hodad!" when they see it. The stick has definitely arrived as an unquestioned professional instrument. The jury can no longer be out as to whether the stick as an experiment is a success or not. This performance, composition and tone exceeds audience expectations for musical and instrumental quality. Now let's see if steel drums can reach the same level of polish someday. They're close but still not there yet. |

Wow, Greg, that was stunning. Totally agree with the tone love ... seems like this is the tone in which this tune was MEANT to live, you know? (No disrespect to the Stickup on the original recording whatsoever.) The slightly slower tempo on this version works beautifully. I wish I could tell you why, but this really touched me, even more than the original did. That's a nice, really subtle and understated way to get that harmonic - took me a couple of passes to catch that it was your pinky. The casual observer would think that it was magic, as you don't appear at first glance to be doing anything other than fretting the note with your left hand. Bravo, sir. |

I haven't heard all of Greg's compositions, but this is definitely one of my favorites (and the sound is great too.) |
