Wow Marty! Talk about making a joyful noise! Man the Stick is an amazing instrument. Imagine trying to play this "simple" piece on a guitar...

Thanks for posting. Mike

Great comments here, I especially liked what Tatsu said, it sounds like this will be the first of many in this format - bravo Marty!

That was super nice, Marty! Your tempo treat is flawless here. I guess that when you say it is "fairly atemporal" you mean that it doesn't follow a fixed tempo. But this song's kind of tempo curve is more about the emotional content of the music than about beats-per-minute; inspired flowing tempo... (do they really say "tempi" in Italy, as the music speeds up and slows down? Just wondering...)

Nice one, Marty. I agree that it's the spaces that really let the piece 'breathe' - superb tone too :)

Thanks everyone for your kind and encouraging remarks.

As you said, Greg, these type of tunes are never really finished -- this one sounds different today than it did just a week ago.

Although I've posted some pretty slow/meditative stuff lately, I actually prefer music with some rhythm, but any of the pieces I like that have real movement are, so far, too hard for me to pull off -- at least too hard to pull off and still be something I'd like to listen to. ;) More practice...
