Chaos & Control: Instrumental Prog
Hear the epic battle between Chaos & Control in musical form. After I finished the piece someone pointed out the "Get Smart" reference which I had completely missed!
For this piece, I had three Railboard tracks - one for the bass part, one for a two-handed part in the middle, and one for leads. Piano, organ, synth, and Zendrum round out the rest of the instruments.
Thanks for listening!
Jeremy

Re: Chaos & Control: Instrumental Prog
Just a note, in Get Smart it's spelled KAOS.
In more relevant discussion, I very much liked the track, with the two-handed part being my favorite. I had to go back and listen to it again! What tuning are you using out of curiosity?
Very nice Jeremy, always a treat to hear your stuff.

Re: Chaos & Control: Instrumental Prog
Thanks for kind words! I am using Baritone Melody tuning on the Railboard.

Jeremy, that was wicked fun.
I like especially at around 4:20
Sheet... you have a really solid musical sound approach. Would love to see it live.
Smashing.!!

That was wonderfully weird, good sir! Parts of it reminded me of playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 under the influence of tequila, albeit much more pleasant.

Re: Chaos & Control: Instrumental Prog
Turbulent polyrhythms, divisions of 12, driven by 4x3s, then gliding with 2x6s, and finally those pounding 3x4s, all part of the churning blend - love it!
One minute in, the piano enters with righteous chordal phrasing, reminding me of John Coltrane's quartet in mid flight - just wild!
Thanks JC, for your inspired production techniques and uses of the Railboard.

Thanks Emmett! And thank you for creating such an inspiring instrument and providing an equally inspiring musical example.
