Bach Cello Suite No. 1, prelude, for left hand...
Hi everyone,
A nice exercise for the left hand... My new 1-2-1-3 diatonic scale fingerings made this much easier...
feedback is always welcome...

I enjoyed that, and I think the similarity to the cello's tuning is one thing that attracted me to this type of instrument in the first place. The ability to get sequential notes in the left hand is something I've struggled with (I've been playing right hand chords in a position where I can get the thumb involved to grab the fouth note, but the 1-2-3-4 thing hasn't really worked for me when my right hand needs to be elsewhere), so I'll have to try this approach.

As The Joker said in The Dark Knight: "Why so serious?" I'm so used to that little Greg Howard smile; it's a bit of a shock not to see it. One of the things I love so much about Stick is how adaptable it is for different genres. Having grown up in a multiple-personality-music household, I like hearing classical as much as fusion, rock, reggae, metal, or jazz, and how good the instrument sounds in each of them is a great testament. This was fantastic, Greg. Did you find it a very different challenge working on a piece with less arranging freedom? (It's not like you can make different choices for the notes!)

Greg awesome job as always. BTW were you muting the strings a little with your right hand?

An excellent testament that even just one hand can fill a room with music!
Bravo Greg! Bravo!

Hi Luc, The challenge is in finding ways to execute the lines, which is something I do with students in lessons pretty often. This piece in particular led to a major discovery for me, so the effort was really worth it. I've been practicing it periodically for several years but was never able to get it going smoothly until I started using the new fingering scheme. And yes, you're right, as a true tabula rasa the Stick can find it's way into any musical form, though we may need to guide it a bit along the way....
