Sticktuitiveness (episode 0.9) "Pilot Your Craft"
Here is a video I made as a means for discussing ideas, and a way to give the audience a bit of insight into my world.
It's kind of a variety show including philosophy, music, banter and whatever I feel like talking about. Watch this if feel like spending about 13 minutes hanging out with me in my recording studio.
Enjoy: Sticktuitiveness (episode 0.9) "Pilot Your Craft"
Let me know what you think! I'd love to get your feedback and impressions on this.

Thanks for watching and I must give some props to Josh Goldberg with his Stick Science series, definitely an inspiration for this concept.
I'm doing my best to go in my own direction with this, do something a little different.
I do hope that you find it entertaining and that my humor shines through.

Re: Sticktuitiveness (episode 0.9) "Pilot Your Craft"
Thanks again for watching. I appreciate the feedback.
I figured the first few minutes would be of less interest to fellow Stickists since you already know the answer to "What IS that thing?" -- but I thought it might be a good way to get the ball rolling with something I'm sure we are all familiar with.
Perhaps "Tech Talk" would be the segment of most interest to my fellow musicians.
Anyway, now that you've all made me feel nice and warm and fuzzy, I would like to invite some more constructive criticism. Dare I ask, where's tritone with his rude "reality" check? :-P
But seriously, what do you as the audience want to see in future episodes? I have my own ideas, and I'd love some outside input based on the first go.
On the other hand, what stuck with you the most from this first episode?

Re: Sticktuitiveness (episode 0.9) "Pilot Your Craft"
I have to start typing or I'm going to forget points as I watch the video! First, when you start playing, your bass side sounds somewhat like a Korg upright bass sample I had on a keyboard. And it sounds so cool. I've gushed over your bass tone before, and it's great to hear it all by itself, even if only for a moment. I love the concept of, well, a concept video. Peter Erskine used to write a series of articles in Modern Drummer in the late 80's/very early 90's, which might have actually been called "Concepts", I'm not sure. And I looked forward to it - I love hearing about the why to play as much as the what or how to play. This was a nice & easy watch. Not too long, but not brutally short, either. The credits - LOL! DO you practice Yoga or do anything else specifically for your health/life? Does it affect your musicianship? Perhaps that's a topic that might be worth covering. Thanks, Flint, looking forward to more!

Re: Sticktuitiveness (episode 0.9) "Pilot Your Craft"
Ok you want a critique I'll give you one. I believe you are one of the best stick players on the planet, in fact one of my favorite (and one of the most natural players).
And you have always let your music do the talking. No "look at this cool trick" videos just real music. So my suggestion is to keep the series tied to the music. Play real music stretch out and inform through music. You have a great life outlook and personality so let that come through as well...... But play.! I would love to have you set up a piece then play it and then talk about it again. Tell us your influences, musical spiritual whatever inspired the piece.
So maybe it's just my personal preference but you are a great musician so play us some great music. The stick world has enough fluff. Keep giving us music.
Just my 2 cents and believe me I couldn't do it but I think you can. Nice video editing by the way. And great tone.
Looking forward to "hearing" more
Brett
