Dear community,
I want to introduce you to my current project. It is not Stick-centric, but the Stick is a part of it. It is not music, that you can listen to, but it is music you can see - in a way.
With my HANDS project I portrait musicians. But I did not choose the way of the "usual" portrait- the face of the musician, or the musician with his instrument. I picture the part of the musician that has a significant part on making the tone, playing the note, or initiating the sound - his hands.
I already have pictures of the hands of guitar players, bassists, drummers, trombone players, organ players, and of course some Stickists and tapping instrument players. The list of participating musicians is growing from week to week and I am constantly searching for musicians gigging near me, so I can visit them and take a picture of their hands.
There are already names like David Rhodes, Mike Stern, Stu Hamm, Divinity Roxx, Nils Landgren and other well known instrumentalists on the list, and you will also find Jim Lampi, Youenn Landreau, Ron Baggerman and Mathias Sorof.
My main goal is to exhibit the HANDS pictures in music venues, clubs and music halls. And finally, when there are enough great hands collected, I want to release a book with all the participating musicians.
If you like to see a few of the pictures, please visit the HANDS website at:
